We have a lovely flock of Hebridean Sheep.

The Hebridean is a small black sheep native to Scotland. The sheep can be multi horned, and rams can look very impressive.

Hebrideans, are very hardy, and thrive on rough grazing, with very little need for supplementary feeding.

The meat is dark, succulent and rich in flavour, with very little fat. The lambs are slower growing than commercial breeds, and are not ready to butcher until they are 18months to 2 years in age, allowing the flavour of the meat to further develop. At this age they are referred to as Hoggets.

The finished carcasses from Hebridean sheep are smaller than commercial breeds, but we think the flavour more than makes up for it.

We also cure the skins, which we have made into beautiful rugs.

Meat is available as whole hogget, half hogget or as individual cuts.
